Treefort Week

Treefort runs March 25 through 29, 2026. Shows start in the afternoon and go late across dozens of venues downtown. The Riverwalk Cottage is in the West End. Close enough to get to venues without a hassle. Quiet enough to actually sleep when you want to.

The backyard is your pre-show starting point and your post-show landing zone. The hot tub is open. The fire pit is there. Your group does not need to scatter across the city. You have a place to gather.

Ride to the 36th Street Bridge, drop onto the Boise Greenbelt 3GreenbeltGreenbeltview full gallery →, and follow the river through a stretch of parks all the way to Ann Morrison. We rode it. 14 minutes from the cottage to the Treefort bike racks. No traffic, no parking, no hassle.

The West End is where we live and work. Quinn's Pond and the Boise Whitewater Park are a short walk away. The neighborhood is covered in mature trees and is one of the better parts of Boise to spend a week in.

Come Early. Stay Late.

Treefort does not really start on Wednesday. The energy builds for days before the official kick-off. There are unofficial shows, friends rolling into town, the city starting to feel different. If you show up Monday or Tuesday you catch all of that. The cottage is available before the festival week and a lot of the people who get the most out of Treefort are the ones who do not rush in the day things start.

The same goes for Sunday. The last shows go late. We are talking after midnight. If you have to check out Sunday morning you miss the whole end of it. The Sunday closer sets are some of the best of the whole festival. Book through Sunday night and leave Monday when it is actually over.

We have been around Treefort long enough to know how the week actually works. This is not a three-day weekend trip. It is a week. The cottage is priced and set up for the full run.

The Boise Jewell caboose at night

The Boise Jewell.

A restored 1982 caboose on 40 feet of real railroad track, right next door to the cottage. The Boise Jewell is not a prop or a decoration. It is a functioning space with its own character, its own presence, and a history of hosting things that people still talk about.

We have thrown some good parties there. Wedding ceremonies. Music gatherings. Late-night fire-pit sessions that spilled from the cottage backyard over to the track. The combination of the cottage yard and the Jewell is something you cannot rent anywhere else in Boise.

If your group wants a memorable night, or if you want something you can point to and say that is the thing that made the week, this is it. Add the Jewell on for any night of your stay.

Your Options

None of these are required. They are available if you want them. The cottage is great on its own. These just make it easier or bigger depending on what your group is after. Reach out and we will work it out with you.

Available on request

Scooter Pack

Large scooters available for your group. Every rider gets a 15-minute driver training before heading out. Good for covering more ground than a bike and getting across town fast during Treefort.

Ask us about the scooter pack when you reach out.

Available on request

Rental Car

We keep a 2023 Tesla Model 3 in mint condition for our guests. It is ready when you arrive. Clean, charged, and waiting in the driveway. No rental counter, no paperwork shuffle, no mystery about what car you are getting.

Need something different or something larger? We can handle other rental arrangements and make sure the right vehicle is ready for you before you check in.

Ask us about the car when you reach out.

Available on request

Concert Chauffeur

Your driver shows up. Your group loads in. You arrive at the venue like you planned it that way. No one debates who is driving. No one leaves early to beat the crowd. Just show up, enjoy the show, and get picked up when you are ready.

Whether it is two of you or a group up to 10, we can arrange a driver for your nights out during the week. Pre-arrange the pickup. Pre-arrange the return. Travel in style.

Ask us about the chauffeur when you reach out.

Groups and Events

The cottage sleeps a group well on its own. But this property has handled a lot more than that. If you are coming in numbers, or have something bigger in mind, let us know before you book. We have a history of saying yes to things other places will not.

Are You a Band?

We have a couple of additional beds available beyond the standard two bedrooms. Enough to get your whole crew under one roof instead of scattered across different hotels.

There is something different about staying in a real West End house during Treefort. You have a private backyard, a fire pit, bikes waiting. Your people have somewhere to land before and after every show. That matters when you are playing multiple nights and need to stay sharp.

Reach out and we will talk through what fits your situation.

Hackfort, Filmfort, Artfort...

Treefort is not one festival. It is a whole week of parallel tracks running at the same time. Hackfort is the tech conference. Filmfort is the film festival running concurrent screenings across the city. Artfort fills galleries and public spaces. There are more *forts than most people realize until they are already here and bouncing between them.

If you are coming for any corner of that week, the cottage is a good home base and the caboose next door is something else entirely. The Boise Jewell is an incredible photographic and film backdrop. The track, the red paint, the lights at night. If your project needs a location, we have had productions shoot here before. We will sign film and photography waivers. Reach out and tell us what you are working on.

Notable Experiences, Not Just Bookings

This property has hosted wedding ceremonies, film and TV commercial shoots with full production crews, and live music events with hundreds of people on site. These were not typical gatherings. They were productions. And this venue handled all of it.

The combination of the cottage, the private backyard, and the Boise Jewell caboose right next door gives you something that is hard to find anywhere else in Boise. A real residential property with real hosting capacity. When we say we have made it work, we mean we have done it many times for people who needed more than a standard rental.

If you are planning something notable, tell us what you have in mind. We want to hear it.

Who We Are

Michael and Janae Blood at Realms Arcade

Michael and Janae Blood. We have been in Boise's West End since the late 1990s. We own and operate a handful of properties in this neighborhood. Not a management company. If you reach out, you are talking to us.

We genuinely like this neighborhood and this city. We end up at Realms Arcade on a random Tuesday. We know which taco stand is worth the detour. Treefort week is one of our favorite times of the year, not because we rent property during it, but because we are usually out in it.

The thing that actually gets us is when a guest comes away feeling like something was a little different. Not just comfortable, but real. Like somebody thought about it. That is honestly what we are chasing when we set a place up.

We've been hosting guests at Riverwalk Cottage since 2019 and have run it through Treefort every year since. We live in Boise's West End, which means we know what makes a good Treefort base: walkability, a real backyard, and somewhere to land when the shows are done.

Michael and Janae Blood operate several short-term rental properties in Boise's West End through JMB Management. Riverwalk Cottage is the flagship. We use it ourselves when it's not booked.
