'It's just a miracle'; Couple remarries after 27 years apart

After my parents were married, Janae and I gifted them a pie of the month club. We told the owner of The Orchard House in Marsing the story of the pie a month and why it mattered to us and to my parents. She passed it on to KIVI, and KIVI reached out.

This story is always bittersweet to me. We had already scheduled the call with KIVI when, only a few days earlier, we found out my mom had stage IV cancer. She asked that we not include any element of that in the story, and we did not.

Knowing it made the whole thing more emotional for me. That interview was really the first time after hearing the news that we stopped to celebrate the fact that my parents had connected. My mom passed eleven months later.
