For twelve summers the river belonged to all of us. Let's do it again.
From 1991 to 2002 the Boise River Festival took over the Greenbelt every summer. Hundreds of thousands of people came downtown. Music on outdoor stages, food and craft booths along the water, kids on shoulders, neighbors running into neighbors, and every night the Parade of Lights, when lit floats rolled down the street after dark and the whole city stood shoulder to shoulder to watch.
Free, outdoors, built around the river that runs through the middle of town, and open to every family in the valley at once. That is what we are bringing back.

Boise has grown a lot since then. We have more sponsors, stronger city leadership, large city festivals that already draw big crowds, and higher standards for cleanliness and cleanup. So yes.
Our mission is to bring the people of Boise together to celebrate and beautify our river. Our focus is to give people another reason to celebrate it, and to leave it cleaner than we found it.
